Educators contribute to the profession.

When I first started my PRAC 491 I was dreading teaching something I didn’t know a lot about and that was teaching French. My coaching teacher showed me what they were learning and the next steps as to where they were going. This gave me different ideas but I needed more. I branched out and contacted our Tech. and Language Coordinator Kevin Sturt. He was able to guide me through some online resources that would eventually help me in my future French lessons. Connecting with a broader community gave me the confidence to look further into my learning as a teacher and know that I am not alone, there are people that are willing to help whenever I needed it.

Another person I was able to connect with was the Indigenous Education Support within Lakeview Elementary Robin Carifelle. She gave me a wealth of knowledge and was able to help me with resources on an art class representing the Haida culture (which connected to the students novel study in ELA “Touching Spirit Bear”).
